Furustadgården lies in the country where "mountain and forests meet the lake" and where "a silent whisper goes
through the valley on the night when apple trees blossom".
In the middle of this valley is Ivösjön is located, the largest
lake in the county of Skåne.
Even if it is a classical lake for fishing, it is not always easy because Ivösjön is in many parts unknown. It is a good
challenge to hunt the large pikes of 20 kg and perhaps there is some truth in the talk of a lake monster and wels of
200 kg…
In the centre of the lake is an island called Ivön. Its top stretches into the sky to 130 metres above the water surface.
Below the surface there are depressions to 50 metres depth. The beautiful surroundings can be experienced by
going around the lake on the road "Humleslingan". Some parts resemble an alpine landscape with apple fields on
the steep slopes. On Furustadgården there are also fruit fields and sheep, Highland Cattle, cats and a dog. The villlage
closeby is named Villands Vånga but is often just called Vånga.

Pike, perch and pikeperch are characteristic
species, but Ivösjön is very rich with brown
trout, lake-trout, "Gullspång"
salmon, and also
a long list of species
such as carp, eel, roach,
ruffe, crucian carp,
tench, burbot, stickleback,
minnow, rudd, ide, bream, white bream,
bleak, vendace, lampern and the rare spined
loach.
Every autumn a "pike meeting" is arranged
and then large pikes are always captured.
There are also large perch in the lake.
